DFInstagram alternative for Android

A DFInstagram alternative many Android users look for is Feurstagram: an open-source Instagram patch that stays updatable, keeps messaging and stories, and blocks Reels, feed, Explore, and ads.

Why people search for a DFInstagram alternative

DFInstagram was a known distraction-free Instagram client. The Feurstagram project states it was built as an alternative because DFInstagram had not been maintained for a long time and was difficult to update. Searchers still use the DFInstagram name when they want the same outcome: Instagram for communication, not for infinite scroll.

How Feurstagram differs

• Patches the real Instagram Android app instead of a WebView wrapper
• Publishes open patches you can inspect before install
• Ships frequent builds that track new Instagram versions
• Offers Classic and Clone APKs so you can replace Instagram or run both
• Exposes runtime toggles for feed, Reels, Explore, stories, ads, and related surfaces

Get the current Classic or Clone build from the download page, then follow the install guide.

Feurstagram vs accessibility blockers

Accessibility-service blockers hide UI after it loads. Feurstagram blocks or hides distracting surfaces through patches and network-level filters. That approach aims to stop content before it becomes a scroll trap, not only after the tab appears.

Limits to accept

Feurstagram is unofficial and not affiliated with Meta. A modified client may violate Instagram's terms. Instagram updates can break patches until a new Feurstagram release ships. Account outcomes are not guaranteed.
