Instagram without the feed on Android

Instagram without the feed is possible on Android with Feurstagram: the home feed is blocked by default so Direct Messages, stories, search, and profiles stay usable without endless scrolling.
Why people remove the Instagram feed
The Instagram home feed ranks and refreshes posts to keep you scrolling. Official settings can reduce some recommendations, but they do not remove the feed surface. People who only need messaging and stories still land on a feed designed for time spent.
How Feurstagram blocks the feed
Feurstagram blocks the home feed at the network level by default. Stories can stay visible. You change the feed toggle in Feurstagram settings by long-pressing Home, or the first visible tab if Home is hidden.
If you want a softer option, leave the feed unblocked and turn on Following feed only. That mode asks for a chronological feed of accounts you follow and drops recommended posts.
What still works without the feed
- Direct Messages, including shared posts and Reels sent in chat
- Stories (on by default, toggleable)
- Search and profiles
- Notifications
- Deep links into content

How to set it up
- Download Feurstagram (Classic or Clone).
- Follow the install guide.
- Open Feurstagram settings and confirm Home Feed stays blocked, or enable Following feed only.
