Instagram without ads on Android is a core Feurstagram goal: ads are blocked by default through network and feed-parse filtering, while regular posts from accounts you follow stay available when you allow a feed.
What Feurstagram blocks
Feurstagram blocks ads and shopping preloads by default. The project also blocks analytics and telemetry paths. Those always-on blocks are documented in the Feurstagram README.
When Instagram changes how sponsored posts arrive mixed into feed responses, Feurstagram releases update the filters. Version 454.0.0.13.77 adapted feed ad filtering for the Instagram 454.0.0.13.77 base so sponsored posts stay removed.
What is not an ad block
Paid partnerships posted by accounts you follow are treated as regular posts. Feurstagram aims to remove Instagram's sponsored inventory, not every branded caption from a creator you already follow.
If Home Feed is fully blocked, you will not see feed ads there anyway. Ads can still appear in other Instagram surfaces that remain enabled, so keep the Ads toggle on in Feurstagram settings.
Ads plus Reels and Explore
Many people want fewer interruptions, not only fewer sponsored tiles. Pairing ad blocking with Reels and Explore blocks removes the main discovery surfaces that push commercial content. Guides: without Reels and without the feed.
