Instagram without Reels on Android
By Jean Published

Instagram without Reels is a common Android request because the official app has no setting that fully removes Reels. Feurstagram blocks Reels by default while keeping Direct Messages and stories.
Why Instagram will not turn Reels off
Instagram promotes Reels in the tab bar, in the feed, and in related surfaces. There is no official control that removes Reels for everyday accounts. Muting, limiting notifications, or using the mobile website still leaves Reels in the path for many people.
How Feurstagram blocks Reels
Feurstagram patches the real Instagram Android app. By default it blocks Reels at the network level and hides the Reels tab icon. Change that toggle in Feurstagram settings by long-pressing Home, or the first visible tab if Home is hidden.
Shared Reels that arrive inside Direct Messages still work, so messaging is not cut off from content friends send you.
What else to block with Reels
Feurstagram can also block the home feed, Explore, suggested accounts, and ads. Stories stay available by default. Related guides: Instagram without the feed and Instagram without ads.
How to try it
- Open the download page and pick Classic or Clone.
- Follow install Feurstagram APK.
- Open Feurstagram settings and confirm Reels stays blocked.
Feurstagram is unofficial and may conflict with Instagram's terms. Prefer this site’s download buttons or a build from source.
